Northumbria Primary Care (NPC) is proud to celebrate the dedication and achievements of its staff as we mark our 10th anniversary. This milestone event reflects on NPC’s journey over the past decade and looks ahead to a promising future.

The celebration is an opportunity to recognise both individual accomplishments and the collective efforts that have shaped NPC. Since its inception, the organisation has navigated challenges, expanded its services, and remained committed to delivering high-quality care to patients and local communities. In 2024 alone, NPC welcomed 250 new colleagues and more than 60,000 new patients.

The event began with a Quality Improvement (QI) showcase, where teams from across the organisation presented posters highlighting their QI projects from the past year. QI plays a vital role in primary care, enhancing patient outcomes, improving efficiency, and ensuring consistently high standards of care. It also fosters a culture of continuous learning and collaboration, empowering colleagues to make data-driven decisions that enhance patient safety and satisfaction.

Following the showcase, we moved on to our staff celebration, where NPC Managing Director David Hedgcock and Northumbria Healthcare CEO Birju Bartoli welcomed attendees. Awards were presented by NPC Director for Education and Training Dr Jane Weatherstone and NPC Chair Katie Stevens, recognising the dedication and hard work of colleagues across the organisation. With a large number of outstanding nominations, shortlisting was no easy task. Congratulations to all award winners, shortlisted colleagues, and nominees.

To conclude the awards, David Hedgcock returned to the stage to honour 15 of our founding members—colleagues who have been with NPC since its establishment in 2015—with a special gift in recognition of their long-standing contributions.
